I am delighted to have several drawings in "Visual Therapy" exhibition curated by Stacy Conde of Conde Contemporary.

"Visual Therapy - The Effects of Art as Manifestation on Artist and Viewer" opens Thursday, September 28th, 2017, 6:00pm at The Frank, gallery and exhibition hall in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

"Visual Therapy", conceptualized by Conde Contemporary Gallery Director and author, Stacy Conde, features two immersive video installations, photorealistic, academic, and expressionistic portraiture, conceptual art, surrealism, photography, and performance art. "Visual art offers a direct view into the mind of its creator.  A work of art begins with a thought formed in the artist’s mind. The artist manifests their vision, creating a physical object.  …a representation of an inner reality. The creation of this object, or work of art, has an impact on both the artist and viewer.

Though conventional wisdom would have us focus on art and not the artist, this exhibition, “Visual Therapy”, examines both the psychological motivations of the artist and the response their work evokes in the observer. "Do they correlate? Does it matter?” explains Conde.

Here is a cool idea...

Here is a cool idea - on what to do with all the used Metrocards from recent trip to New York!

SINGLE FARE 4 is a an art show of art created on used NYC Subway cards created by artists Michael Kagan and Jean-Pierre Roy. Opening Sept 16th at Highline Stages - 441 W 14th Street in NYC. Each of the MetroCards will be available for $100 with sales benefiting the New York Academy of Art.

I have submitted ten cards to this exhibition. Five of them are close up oil portraits and another five are pencil drawings inspired by Rodin's sculptures. I never paint that small, but surprisingly it was a lot of fun. I think I enjoyed the compact size and short time frame of working on each of the tiny pieces.

Poets and Artist Magazine - Artists Painting Artists

I had a great pleasure to paint and draw the artist Omalix and she made a beautiful portrait of me as well - as part of a project for Poets and Artists publication.

Portrait #18. This is the drawing that is featured in the "Poets and Artists" magazine's "The Male Muse" February issue.
Very honored to be in a great company of many wonderful artists!

Shades of Gray - Drawing Magazine.

Same drawing. Different Competition.

More great news!

My drawing Portrait #14 has been selected as the second-place winner in this year’s Shades of Gray Competition.

I am very happy to learn that my drawing won second place in this year's competition and I'm honored to be selected as one of the winners in Shades of Gray contest, where so many great artists and their work have been recognized before me.

Portrait #14 is one of my favorite works, a piece that marks a special moment when I felt like I found a direction that I wanted to whole-heartedly follow and explore. I'm still on this endeavor!

The list of winners will be  soon on and my drawing will be featured in the spring 2017 issue of Drawing, which comes out next April.

Painting in the Garden - Edgar Allan Poe Museum

I had a wonderful time painting in the Poe Museum's garden a couple weeks ago, and three of my oil sketches are now in the Edgar Allan Poe's Museum exhibit benefiting the museum. All the artwork (that got approved by the museum's curator - Pluto The Black Cat) will be on a view till July 24th. Come for a visit - the museum is a beautiful place located in the oldest original building in Richmond, Virginia!
